Georgie Badiel Foundation
Enlightened Generation is working in partnership with GlobalGiving to fund the efforts of the Georgie Badiel Foundation. Proceeds from the Global Acts of Kindness: Water collection are going toward this initiative. Over 50% of the rural population of Burkina Faso doesn’t have access to clean water. There is also a lack of toilets and the challenge of maintaining proper sanitary practices. The Georgie Badiel Foundation’s mission is to change this dire situation by working to build wells and bring clean drinking water to the villages in Burkina Faso.
With each well built, GBF provides education about hygiene and sanitation and the maintaining of the wells. Because this job falls mainly to the girls and women of Burkina Faso, the Georgie Badiel Foundation also provides basic engineering training for women in each community to understand the mechanics of and learn to fix and take care of the wells. Along with generous donations, schools all over the world have partnered with the Georgie Badiel Foundation to raise awareness and funds to help make a difference. Your school can get involved too!
